Food Truck Festival @ St. George’s Church in North Burlington

Fans of food truck fodder: keep Thursdays open for Breaking Bread, a family-friendly food truck series is happening in Alton Village every Thursday, 5-8pm, through September.

Organizer, Stephanie Finn wanted to create something to welcome everyone. “We wanted to create a space where anyone would feel welcome to join us, take a night off from cooking, enjoy a great meal, and hopefully make some new friends,” she says. “St. George’s recently moved into Alton Village. We see part of our mission here as loving and supporting our local community, and bringing people together who might otherwise never get to know each other.”

Each week draws between 400-500 hungry food truck fans. “The vibe is casual and fun, parents have been grateful to get a moment to chat while watching their kids play. One of the food trucks said that we have some of the politest customers they’ve ever met!” says Finn. “We’ve met folks from all over Burlington and they’ve been bringing their friends back with them, so I think we might be on to something!”

With a rotation of different trucks, skip the kitchen and enjoy good food Al fresco once a week. “There’s really something for everyone, from the variety of trucks each week, and crafts for the little ones, to basketball and hockey for all ages. We’re here, rain or shine, every Thursday through September.” Visit the Facebook page for the weekly lineup to plan your menu in advance.
