Looking for an outdoor experience this winter? Take the family for a horse-drawn wagon ride. Some locations do offer sleigh rides, but we’ll need a little more snow first!
The Ranch, Oakville
Sleigh rides are a big attraction in the winter. A team of jingle bell-wearing Belgian horses pull either a flatbed wagon or a sleigh, each carrying up to 20 people, “through rolling countryside and forest.” Stops for cold and/or hot beverages are included in the fun.
Horse Drawn Tours, St. Jacobs
The Sleigh Rides are located at 1222 Apple Grove Rd, Woolwich, Ontario. This farm is located 5 minutes from the St. Jacobs Farmers Market on the North end of Waterloo. Stop by the market for a meal afterwards and tour the area!
Warner Ranch, Niagara Falls
Climb into an Olde English Style Sleigh for winter sleigh rides in Niagara. The journey begins at the ranch and covers over one hundred acres of forested land. Rides generally last one half hour.
Winter Days in the Country, Mountsberg Conservation Area
Enjoy the thrill of a brisk winter sleigh ride followed by hot chocolate and marshmallows around the campfire in Mountsberg’s Sugar Bush (additional fee applies) from 10am to 4pm.
Mountsberg’s majestic team of Percheron Horses make the experience unforgettable! Rides take place at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm and are first come, first served. Round out your visit with a live Bird of Prey show at 12pm or 2pm (included in regular admission). The Wildlife Walkway, Cameron Farm Yard and Play Barn are also yours to explore! When: December 26 – February 16.
