FREE CONCERTS FOR ALL AGES JUNE 7, 12-15
Burlington, ON The Sound of Music Festival Kick-off on June 7 will feature performers Lou Gramm: The Voice of Foreigner, Carole Pope of Rough Trade, Teenage Head and returning favourite Kim Mitchell. Come back for the big weekend June 12th to 15th for The Sheepdogs, Classified, Monster Truck, Colin James, Jason Blaine, Trooper, Sloan, Gord Downie and The Sadies, Kira Isabella, Maestro Fresh Wes, Jarvis Church, Karl Wolf, Fred Penner and Ashley MacIsaac and many more.
Sound of Music Festival, presented by Tim Hortons, takes place at Burlington’s Downtown and Waterfront. The full line-up schedule is available at soundofmusic.ca. Events and activities include Downtown Streetfest, the Grande Festival Parade, Family Zone, fireworks and free Music Education Workshops for children. Tickets are available for premium seating and hospitality services for Festival Stage shows. This free event is almost entirely run by volunteers and largely funded by corporate sponsors and support partners. “The success and growth of this event is unparalleled and I’m so proud to be a part of this incredible group, some of our volunteers work hard all year long to help plan this event”, says Dave Miller, Executive Director.
June 7th, 12th-15th, 2014 will mark Sound of Music Festival’s 35th year. Every year in June, Burlington comes alive with Canada’s Largest Free Music Festival. Over 200,000 people come to enjoy the biggest annual gathering of music by the lake and enjoy free concerts spanning all genres. Through the generosity and support of sponsors and the dedication of volunteers, the event continues to be free for music lovers of all ages.
