Chicken breasts, pork chops and steaks are all great grilling choices. If you can’t narrow it down to just one, make it a mixed grill with a selection of beef, pork and poultry. Grilled and sliced chicken or steak are perfect in your favourite fajita recipe. Try Sizzling Steak and Asparagus, which are packed with flavour and easy for guests to assemble themselves.
Sauces, rubs and marinades: Before grilling, marinate lamb chops with a homemade sauce of honey, garlic, chopped mint, salt and pepper. Serving pork? Brush pork spareribs or chops with honey and garlic sauce. If steak is on the menu, rub meat with a mixture of chili powder, cumin, salt and pepper.
Barbecued asparagus, Portobello mushrooms and sliced sweet onions complement grilled meats perfectly.
Easy desserts: Use foil to make individual apple crisps on the grill. Place sliced Ontario apples on a square sheet of foil and top with a mixture of whole oats, butter, flour and brown sugar. Close each packet tightly and grill for about 25 minutes. Carefully unwrap and slide apple crisp into bowls.
