Spring health fairs, farmer’s markets, maple syrup, wellness expo, giggles & grub and the Outdoor Living & Garden show this weekend!

Terra @ Home Winter Farmers’ Market, Terra Greenhouses, 12800 Britannia Road. There are 40 fantastic vendors at this year’s Terra @ Home Market. Head to the Milton Terra Greenhouses location for a selection of everything from meats and jewellery to baked goods and produce (and more)! The market runs every Saturday from January 11th to April 5, 10am to 3pm. Even if you don’t arrive hungry, your taste buds and sense of smell will take over.

Savage Gardens, Nature’s Ninjas! 680 Plains Road West, Burlington. Feed your senses with the captivating, bizarre, larger-than-life world of carnivorous plants then come face-to-face with animals that harness the wildest defense weaponry on earth! Only at Royal Botanical Gardens, Savage Gardens and Nature’s Ninjas brings two amazing exhibits together with live demonstrations and activities for the whole family.

Sweet Water Season at Crawford Lake, Milton. The skill of maple sugar making was learned from Ontario’s First Nations who had been enjoying the tasty treat for generations before European contact. A trip to Crawford Lake will help you step back in time to learn how maple sugar would have been made in an Iroquoian Village over 600 years ago. Sweetwater demonstrations occur through out the day and conclude with a tasty morsel of cornbread soaked in maple syrup. Maple taffy on snow will also be available from 1 until 4 p.m. (weekends

Maple Town @ Mountsberg, 2259 Milburough Line, Campbellville. March is the month for all things maple and Mountsberg’s Maple Town is open and ready for guests. It has been a cold start to the 2014 season, but a couple of warm days the week of March 10 brought some sap!  Above zero temperatures during the day and frosty nights will bring more sap in the weeks to come. Maple Town will take advantage of this incredible natural phenomenon from March 1 until April 6, 2014.

Burlington Wholistic Wellness Expo, 3063 Harvester Road, Burlington. Free sessions with over 80 holistic practitioners/vendors, snacks, live music and speakers – all for $25!! The Burlington Wholistic Wellness Expo will endeavour to create a harmonious community of learning and healing through the hosting of special events aimed at attracting seekers of Alternative Health Therapies, Energy Work, Spirituality, New Age Mediums, Meditation, Nutrition, Art, Music, Books and more.

Longo’s Fairview Grand Re-Opening, 1225 Fairview Street, Burlington. Starting at 10 a.m., Longo’s welcomes customers to celebrate with store manager, Maria Condello and her team of fresh experts with an official cake-cutting ceremony, and discover Fairview’s new location offerings including an artisan bread kiosk, gluten-free section and Meat and Seafood counters.
