The Burlington Downtown Business Association wants the community to dream big and create a perfect day or night, in downtown Burlington for the chance to win $500 to make that dream a reality.
The contest, “My Perfect Day in the Hood”, is now open and runs until March 31st. Select itineraries will be posted on the downtown Burlington website throughout the contest and all eligible entries will be entered into the grand prize draw (one winner) that takes place on April 1st.
“The sky’s the limit! We want people to create their dream itinerary for downtown from start to finish; tell us the time of year, who they are with, where they would go, and what they would do,” said Brian Dean, General Manager, BDBA.
This contest is an extension of the Association’s award winning “Love Our Hood” campaign from November 2013 which solicited input from individuals within the community to share their favourite aspects of downtown through social media, captured on a branded chalkboard appearing in various locations downtown.
“We know people love our downtown. The “My Perfect Day in the Hood” gives them the opportunity to put it all together in their own perfect day and the chance to tell us in more detail what they love to do downtown,” said Dean. “Hearing what the community wants helps our businesses stay connected and able to deliver unique experiences that can’t be found anywhere else.”
Entries should be 300 words or less, and include four to six activities or places to visit. Email “My Perfect Day in the Hood” itinerary to firstname.lastname@example.org before March 31st. All eligible itineraries will be entered into a grand prize draw for $500 (to be used in Downtown Burlington) on April 1st. Pictures are welcome.
