The fine art of joke telling can be tricky to master, but from what we hear, it’s all in the delivery. Burlington’s 2nd Annual Comedy Festival is sure to deliver several charitable nights of good food and guffaws. Running from February 26 – March 1, the Festival showcases 12 outstanding stand-up comics and will be held at two Burlington downtown venues: The Burlington Performing Arts Centre and the Water Street Cooker. This year’s acts include: Debra DiGiovanni, Graham Chittenden, Chad Daniels, Phil Hanley, James Mullinger, Alex Falcone, Elvira Kurt, Chris Robinson, JC Coccoli, Miss Behave, John Higby, and Greg Tarlin. The festival is also introducing a “Best of the Fest” evening, a Family Variety Show (including a sword swallower!) and a Guiness World Record holding yo-yo champion, among other great acts. Comedian biographies and event schedules are listed on the festival’s website.
This year’s charitable partner is the Canadian Cancer Society, which is a national, community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life for people living with cancer. Chances are you know someone who has battled cancer in the past, or is currently under treatment. Show your support, buy your tickets today and enjoy!
