For the first time this year, restaurants from across Oakville will be participating in the 2015 Winter Taste of Oakville. Supported by the Business Improvement Associations of Downtown Oakville, Kerr Village and Bronte, the event runs from January 26 – February 12, 2015, and promises to be a culinary treat. Over 20 fabulous restaurants from all over Oakville will be offering signature prix-fixe lunch and/or dinner menus.
With prix-fixe menus that offer amazing value and vast culinary selection, your taste buds can travel the world without leaving town. “We are so fortunate to have so many renowned chefs in restaurants right here at home – it’s easy to enjoy culinary masterpieces without travelling the world,” says Sharlene Plewman, executive director of the Downtown Oakville BIA. “With this year’s Taste including even more restaurants your taste buds will luxuriate in all that there is to experience.”
The range of options is extraordinary – from a casual burger or pizza, to exotic Indian curry or Mexican burritos, to Mediterranean or Latin American flare….. The participating restaurants this year also offer surroundings that range from casual and fun to elegant and refined – just take your pick depending on your mood and budget.
Timing for the event is deliberate. Many people find that there is not much to do in the depths of winter once the holidays are over, and so this is a great opportunity to get out, share a meal with friends or family, and experience superb dining at price points that offer great value.
In a “Town” such as this, we’re lucky to live in a community that’s still just that – a community. Why drive on the highway when you could just head downtown, to Kerr Village or Bronte Village for a great meal? “So many of us choose Oakville because of these unique districts – it was certainly the deciding factor for my husband and I in settling in Oakville,” says Plewman. “For these districts to stay as vital and exceptional as they are, we need to make time to frequent them and the businesses within them. It’s akin to great friendships – each visit makes that friendship grow and flourish.”
So don’t hibernate this winter. Make sure you come out, enjoy some fine food and wine, and support local business! There are definitely options for everyone and new dining experiences to be discovered.
