OUR OWN SOUND – The Sound of Music Festival returns to offer free fun for everyone

This year marks the 35th edition of the Sound of Music Festival, Burlington’s award-winning event and Canada’s largest free music festival.  The festival is spread out over two weekends with the kick-off event on June 7, which will feature Lou Gramm: The Voice of Foreigner and returning favourite, Kim Mitchell.

Musical highlights this year include: The Sheepdogs, Classified, Monster Truck, Colin James, Jason Blaine, Trooper, Sloan, Gord Downie, The Sadies, Kira Isabella, Maestro Fresh Wes, Jarvis Church, Karl Wolf, Fred Penner, Chilliwack,  and Ashley MacIsaac.  The event packs a total of 100 acts across ten stages!  The full lineup of performers and events is available on the festival’s web site.

Every year, the festival spreads from the waterfront to other nearby areas, bringing the downtown core to life with the Grande Festival Parade, Downtown Streetfest, Family Zone, Carnival and more. 

Fireworks Shows

Stay for fireworks on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 11pm.  Saturday’s fireworks presentation will be the highlight with a longer show set to music.
