Charitable causes benefit from market proceeds.
Burlington ON – The Burlington Mall Farmers’ Market as it carries on its long tradition of making local produce and food products available to the community on not one, but three market days each week.
Operated by the Burlington Lions Club since 1960, proceeds from the market are used to support numerous community projects and initiatives. This charitable component rounds out the win-win feeling of it all. Vendors are connected to ‘foodies’ with a love for local flavour, shoppers receive the ‘pick of the crop’ as it becomes available and community programs are supported through funding generated by the market.
With a roster of approximately 40 vendors, the Burlington Mall Farmers’ Market has something for all tastes. In addition to the plentiful variety of Ontario grown fruit and vegetables that become available as the season progresses, the market offers many other types of locally produced foods such as eggs, butter, honey, cheese and baked goods, including gluten-free items as well as a wide selection of barbecue and deli meats. These are in addition to jams and jellies, meat pies, sprouts, salsas and dips and some seasonal surprises like zucchini blossoms.
Market days are Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market is located on the Prospect St. side of the Burlington Mall.
Burlington Mall is located at 777 Guelph Line, south of the QEW, Burlington.
