The Burlington Hive held it’s launch party in Burlington earlier this month and celebrated their Grand Opening with an evening of food, drink, and live music. The HiVE is a co-working space where freelancers, entrepreneurs, and startups can grow, collaborate and learn from other creative professionals in a vibrant co-working atmosphere. The evening offered an opportunity for guests to enjoy the space, learn more about membership, meet the HiVE community, and enter a draw for a free year membership to the HiVE. The party began with delicious appetizers by the Ampersand Group, and cocktails mixed in style, thanks to the amazing flare bartenders. The games room offered plenty of entertainment with ping-pong, Foosball, and NHL 2014 in the TV room. And, of course, great music thanks to the Adam Cooke band. Shaun Pennell, the founder of the Burlington HiVE, had a chance to express his vision for the HiVE and thank everyone for their support. Following Shaun, the co-founder of Silicon Halton, Rick Stomphorst, the MPP, Jane McKenna, and Mayor Rick Goldring expressed their excitement and support towards the HiVE. Mayor Rick Goldring lead an official ribbon cutting, followed by the draw for the free year membership. The party went well into the evening as guests enjoyed the opportunity to eat, drink, dance, and make professional connections. With over 150 guests, the Grand Opening of the HiVE was a spectacular party!
