The imminent arrival of St. Patrick’s Day has us all rifling through our closets in search of our greenest attire. This year, why not trade in that tattered green t-shirt you wore to last year’s St. Patty’s Day Parade for clothing that’s green in the eco-friendly sense? Environmentally sustainable clothing is making a name for itself for obvious reasons.
Not only are these products eco-friendly, they are also on trend and equally as chic as any other mainstream fashion find. Organic fabrics feel good against your skin, and they’re also hypoallergenic and free of chemicals or pollutants. Clothing made from bamboo is even antimicrobial, which means that it naturally kills bacteria!
Shopping for organic t-shirts, dresses and pants would have been a challenge five years ago. Most purchases had to be made online, which meant paying for shipping and handling fees. Luckily, growing environmental awareness has made this clothing more easily accessible. Now, shopping for eco-friendly fashion is simple, and shopping locally is the easiest way to be green.
Whether you’re new to shopping “green” or a veteran consumer, there are great sustainable fashion finds just around the corner. Take a friend and peruse the wide selection of fashionable and sustainable apparel that Oakville and Burlington has to offer.
